This wrought iron bowstring truss bridge was built in 1872 by the Massillion Bridge Company. It was designed and patented by Joeseph Davenport in the late 1860's. It has one 72 foot span and is 16 feet width overall. The main compression member is made of bar iron and pipe in a lattice design that was very popular in the 1870's. This is a rare example of this design.
